This photo is from a beautiful morning after snowfall – just walking in the Snow for a couple of hours absorbing the beauty of new snow and sunshine. Hope this photo conveys some of the silence and stillness.
This tree is a Eucalyptus stellulata. The Latin name describes the tiny star-like flowers.
It’s common name in our area of the Australian Alps is Muzzlewood.
When the cattlemen used to graze their animals in the high country they would wean calves by hanging a flap of timber from these trees over the calves nose so they couldn’t suckle from their mothers.
There is no grazing in the Alps now of course as the high country is protected in the Kosciusko National Park.
